I had a great time in the handstand workshop by Jennifer. I have been practicing handstands for awhile now and felt that I was stuck in making progress. During the workshop I've received some very useful tips that made me breakthrough my handstand plateau. I love how workshops like this take the time to break down the poses rather than having to sit out a pose I haven't mastered in class. This gives me a chance to work up to really knowing the pose. Jennifer did a great job teaching and giving feedback!

Why Discover Yoga?
Yoga is the place where we can come to truly connect and love ourselves as a whole being. Yoga is the mindful exploration of our body; of its boundaries and limits, of its softness and strength, and of the incredible intricacy with which it has been put together.
Jennifer began her practice with at home as a way to lose weight. A dedicated daily practice became more than just a fitness program as she learned to connect with her body in a way she never had before. Yoga taught her to love and accept her body where it is in the moment.
Always a wanderer, Jennifer took off after completing a degree in Anthropology. She started by studied Spanish in Spain, practicing yoga in apartments all over the country as a break from studying. As an au pair in Mexico, she practiced yoga next to the community pool before the kids got home from school. After a short time back in New Jersey she enrolled in WorldTeach Namibia and spent two years teaching English in a rural village. Becoming immersed in another culture brought her to a deeper understanding of deeply ingrained beliefs and gave her a chance to question what is often taken as fact. This led to her desire to go back to the roots of yoga.
Upon returning to New Jersey in early 2012, Jennifer enrolled in yoga teacher training through Samadhi Sun. Under the guidance of her teacher, Sharon Manner, she found her voice and passion for teaching yoga to all populations. When the program ended she took a leap and asked Sharon if she needed any help with her non-profit, Ashrams for Autism. Today she is dedicated to teaching yoga and continuing to deepen her own practice. When she is not teaching, Jennifer enjoys time at home with her girlfriend and their two cats.
Jennifer is an E-RYT-200 certified teacher. She holds certificates in teaching Spectrum Yoga to people with Autism from Ashrams for Autism and teaching Underserved and Vulnerable Populations from YogaActivist. Jennifer hopes to guide her students in finding a connection between mind, body and spirit. She believes that yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, ability, race or gender. She works to create an open and safe environment for each and every student.
